How It Works

1

Initial Consultation

Contact us to arrange a confidential consultation with one of our partners. We will discuss your matter, assess the legal landscape, and provide an honest assessment of your position and options — without obligation.

2

Engagement & Scope

We provide a clear, written engagement letter setting out the scope of our mandate, the team assigned to your matter, and our fee arrangements. Transparency at the outset is fundamental to our client relationships.

3

Strategic Planning

Our team develops a tailored legal strategy aligned with your commercial objectives. For complex matters, we convene a strategy session with the relevant specialists across our practice groups.

4

Execution

We execute the agreed strategy with precision, keeping you informed at every meaningful juncture. You will always have direct access to your lead partner — not just updates from an associate.

5

Resolution & Follow-Through

Whether the matter concludes at signing, award, or judgment, we ensure all post-completion steps are handled thoroughly. We remain available to advise on any issues that arise from the concluded matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Meridian Chambers located, and are you licensed to practise in the DIFC?
Meridian Chambers is based in Gate Village, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). We are fully licensed by the DIFC Authority and our attorneys are admitted to practise before the DIFC Courts. We also advise on matters governed by UAE onshore law in collaboration with our registered onshore partners.
What types of clients do you work with?
Our clients include multinational corporations, private equity funds, sovereign wealth vehicles, family offices, financial institutions, and high-growth technology businesses. We also advise individual executives and entrepreneurs on corporate and transactional matters. We work with clients based in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, the UK, Europe, and Asia.
Do you handle arbitrations under all major institutional rules?
Yes. Our arbitration team has extensive experience under DIAC, LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, and ADCCAC rules. We act as counsel for claimants and respondents, and several of our attorneys also sit as arbitrators. We advise on seat selection, institutional choice, and arbitration clause drafting as part of our transactional work.
How do you structure your fees?
We offer a range of fee arrangements tailored to the nature of the matter. These include hourly rates, fixed fees for defined-scope work, and blended arrangements. For certain dispute resolution matters, we are open to discussing alternative fee structures. All fee arrangements are set out transparently in our engagement letter before work commences.
Can you advise on matters outside the UAE?
Our core practice is anchored in the DIFC and UAE, but we regularly advise on cross-border transactions and disputes involving multiple jurisdictions. Where matters require local counsel in other countries, we have a trusted network of international law firm relationships through which we can coordinate seamlessly.
How quickly can you respond to urgent matters?
One of the genuine advantages of our boutique structure is responsiveness. For urgent matters — including emergency arbitrator applications, injunctions, and time-sensitive transactions — we are able to mobilise our team within hours. Contact us directly on our partner line for urgent instructions.
